New York is quickly becoming a hub for online betting ventures as the state welcomes another operator. BetMGM, the well-known gaming operator, recently became the fifth venture to enter the New York online sports betting industry.
The venture is all set to launch the online mobile betting operations from 17th January 2022. Names like FanDuel, Rush Street Interactive, DraftKings, and Caesars Sportsbook have already initiated their operations in the state.
As soon as the MGM and Entain joint venture received an affirmation, it greeted the New York Gaming Commission for approving the license application. Despite the news, the regulator is yet to make a public announcement regarding BetMGM’s arrival.
The gaming operator has also joined hands with MGM Resorts to access its M Life Rewards program. The initiative allows New York-based users to redeem their gameplay for experiences at properties owned by MGM Resorts. Some of these facilities include Borgata (New Jersey) and Empire City Casino (Yonkers).
Moreover, BetMGM will also offer VIP rewards to users as the Madison Square Garden Arena’s official sports betting partner. The rights will allow BetMGM customers to enjoy games from the New York Rangers NHL and New York Knicks NBA team. You can read more about online betting.
The regulator released a statement about the development, stating they are looking forward to New York. They also thanked the New York Gaming Commission for bringing the operator who has been working tirelessly to bring such proceedings to fruition.
As soon as the New York tender process was initiated, nine betting operators were recommended for licenses. The New York Gaming Commission only cleared the first four operators. BetMGM currently operates in 13 states and also plans to launch its services in Louisiana shortly.
